ANNUAL REPORT - 2012-13

Stella Maris School suring into hustle-bustle from 17th June 2012. The new session brought new vigour, promises, enthusiasm amidst the management, staff and students. The staff greeted and welcomed the newly appointed principal Sr.Grace Maria in the I staff meeting. the principal evaluated and scrutinized the past academic progress. Certain amendments were made in the exam schedule, cabinet nomination and activity schedule. She congratulated the new staff secretaries and asked the teachers to extend a co-operative hand towards development of the school.

Blessings were seeked on the reopening day. Father Tomy conducted the prayer service and delivered a spiritual message.

The nominations were held successfully followed by a campaign which proved the nominees enthusiasm, and devotion. The elections were held on 5th July. Students from Class-IV onwards took part in election. Shreyash Indurkar and Angel Lonare were elected as head boy & Head girl, Prahalad, Ashwini, Vaibhav, Dnyanda, Ganesh and Shruti were elected as sports, health and Arts ministers respectively. The Investiture ceremony was held with elegance in the presence of Father Chacko V.C . who presided as the chief guest & Sr.Lucy (the manager) & Sr. Grace Maria D.M. (The principal). The president served the task of taking the pledge from the cabinet leaders. The leaders held their head high with hopes, assurances and promises. The Heritage, Literature, science & maths club presented their report and schedule for the ensuing days. The speech, mathematics & science model presentation, were appreciable. Father Gladson Chacko V.C. conveyed an inspirational message of "eat well, study well, pray well & do well".

On July 23rd the school reverberated with joy & happiness on the occasion of principal's feast. Students vibrated the cheerful atmosphere with melodious & songs and spectacular dances. The principal spoke about the significance of feast day.

The national festivals, Independence day was flavoured with patriotism, happiness, songs and tri coloured dances. The students and guests saluted the national flag. Father Suresh V.C. conveyed the message of true Indian.

Students celebrated teachers day in a ceremonial way. their love and respect for the teachers was depicted in each & every event, cultural programme and various competitions. The graceful moment of this function left the audience spell bound. The patrons day "Stella Maris Day". The revealed the resolve of Stella Marians to be the light dispelling the darkness of the world. It was a bid to revive the memory of traditional folk dances.

The blooming buds of the school were enriched and rejuanised by the value education seminar conducted by Rev.Fr. Varghese Kunnath. The Director of Sadbhavana, Aligarh.

His orating skills were dominant in attracting the parents mind also. Parents and teachers were enthralled at the revelations of different faces of the society, child behavior, parenting ones child and son during the parents & teachers seminar.

Jawaharlal Nehru loved children and spent quite a lot of time with them. In respect and administration for him, different activities were arranged. Songs, dances, speeches were collaborated with competitions like drawing, storytelling etc. Teachers danced and acted to entertain the students.

Christmas and Diwali programme was enlightened with children participating enthusiastically in various activities.

Beautiful rangolis, wonderful Christmas trees, catch, innovative skits, and Christmas message were the attractions of the day.

The school observed an interesting & overwhelming show organized on the birth anniversary of great mathematician Srinivasan Ramanujan on 22nd December. This maths day had put up a dazzling show. The unique presentations were the BOBMAS dance, skit based on mathematical operation. Students geared their memory in quiz. The guest Mr. Potnurwar, (H.O.D., Maths in Shivaji college) appreciated the efforts of students and teachers.

On Hindi divas, children collaborated with the teachers & performed various acts like monoacting, skit etc. The Annual sports were held in winter. Group events like relay, cricket, throw ball, langdi etc were held. Students exhibited their perseverance & sportsmanship in individual event like shot-put, Javelin throw and others. The Annual sports Day was conducted on 26th Jan.

Competitions were held all round the year to chisel and enhance students knowledge and talent in various fields of literature, science, speaking, skills. Students proved their mettle in every round. They performed well in extempore and elocution, fancy dress (K.G. class) & so on. Young children danced to the tune of melodious beats in primary students dance competition.

The P.T.A. committee was formed to establish good relation between school & parents. Many students appeared achievement in Olympiad & received god, silver medal respect.

The examinations were held as per schedule and Report cards were distributed during P.T.A. meetings. A good rapport existed between parents & teachers in this session.
